Since the day Tallgrass opened its doors in 2012, our roots have been planted with growth in mind. From our first days in a Kansas farmhouse to building an innovative company culture and launching ground-breaking freight technology, we’re proud of our intentional, exponential growth year after year. Today, we’re excited to share our latest advancement: The Tallgrass Freight Co. team has opened a second Kansas City area office, in the 7101 Tower in the suburb of Overland Park, Kansas.
Located just 20 minutes southeast of our flagship Kansas City office, our Overland Park location signifies just one of the many recent milestones we’ve achieved and serves as the result of our hard work and commitment to be the best. Needing some extra elbow room is a great problem to have!
We’re thrilled that our Operations and Finance teams call our new space home. Our flagship office continues to be the hub for our outstanding independent freight agents.
“Ultimately, the new office is an exciting sign of our growth,” says David Barnes, COO and Co-Owner. “It’s an iconic location, and we couldn’t be happier to be here.” While recent seasons have marked strong expansion, our growth is nothing new: 2021 was the fifth year in a row of ranking on the prestigious Inc. 5000 list! (So yeah, you could say we’ve been hustling over here.)
Known as the “Darth Vader Building” due to its dark exterior, our new digs are located in an iconic 16-story luxury office high-rise. The 7101 Tower has both stunning features and an ideal location.
“The location is great, and the building is iconic,” David continues. Located on the Southwest corner of College Boulevard and Metcalf, the building boasts beautiful external light displays and a large water spout fountain at the entrance. Tallgrass team members have convenient access to a first-floor cafe and a parking garage. Each Tallgrass professional has their own office with stunning views of the metro. The office is just minutes from the shops and restaurants of Town Center, as well as key highway interchanges.
