Twice a year, we convene team members at our Agent Roundtable event. Since fall 2020, we’ve held our Roundtable at the beautiful Loews Hotel in downtown Kansas City! With stunning views and top-notch accommodations, this tradition is one we eagerly anticipate all year long. There’s no better setting for learning, growth and connection. This October, we were able to welcome agents from across the United States to join our agent mastermind weekend, full of food, friendships and freight education.
We started the day with a gourmet breakfast while agents met and mingled before heading into our first session. We began the event with unparalleled training from some of the best financial experts in the country with the Creative Planning financial and wealth planning firm. In a Q-and-A format, agents were able to ask questions about investing strategies, saving for their future, estate planning and more. Everyone was able to interact and gain crucial knowledge from these renowned experts — and we understand how important wealth management is when you’re earning top-tier compensation!
Our Roundtable also featured a panel of our experienced freight agents who have hired a team to grow their agency. No questions were off the table as they discussed how they’ve reached new heights in the freight ecosystem by expanding their team. Each speaker brought a unique perspective, revealing the strategies that allowed them to assemble a rockstar group and run their logistics business smoothly.
The panel of agents candidly shared their personal experiences at Tallgrass, the best practices for achieving sustainable growth and real, tangible takeaways for bringing an excellent assistant on board. (Hey, we’re all about authenticity here.) After sharing, the audience of agents had the opportunity to ask questions about ensuring the best service, overcoming obstacles in the industry and how to manage a team of assistants. Tallgrass agents walked away from this session with a detailed outline of how to elevate their freight business to flourishing.
One of the best aspects of the Roundtable weekend is the friendships that are formed and the community of like-minded individuals. Our company dinner is a fantastic way to get to know one another better and a great way to wrap up the weekend. The team bonds over a tasty spread of food while enjoying the foundation of community that Tallgrass instills in each and every agent.
