Tallgrass Freight Family Gathers to Celebrate an Extraordinary Year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: the highly anticipated Tallgrass Freight Company annual holiday party!

Talk to a Tallgrass Freight agent or employee any time of the year and there’s a good chance you’ll hear about our celebration. Our Chief Operating Officer, David Barnes, begins planning the next party as soon as the first one ends—or, more accurately, as soon as he’s recovered from the fun!

This year, David knocked it out of the park. We welcomed freight agents from around the U.S. for a festive holiday weekend in Kansas City, the center point of which was, of course, our party.

We gathered at the gorgeous Intercontinental Hotel, which, aside from being a stunning facility, gave our guests incredible views of the Country Club Plaza and its more than 80 miles of holiday lights (hello, selfies).

Before we danced the night away with live music from Disco Dick and the Mirror Balls, David and our CEO, Damon Anderson, kicked the festive ambiance up several notches by highlighting company and employee accomplishments.

In short, 2018 has been an incredible year. We welcomed more than 40 new freight agents to our network. We made significant progress toward our goal of becoming a technology company that brokers freight by making continuous improvements to our powerful in-house CRM and introducing a proprietary Decision Engine to help empower our agents to deliver even better service. We continued to strengthen our entrepreneurial company culture with fun team-building events like our TGF Fall Olympics and periodic company gatherings. And our culture and explosive growth helped us sweep an impressive slate of industry awards, including the Kansas City Business Journal’s Best Places to Work and Fastest Growing Companies, Ingram’s Corporate Report 100, Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies and recognition as a Major Employer from the Shawnee Economic Development Council.

This sort of success wouldn’t be possible without our hard-working freight agents and employees, which is why an important part of our holiday party includes recognizing our Freight Agent of the Year, Employee of the Year and Partner of the Year.

After those announcements, you can bet that everyone was ready to party—and that’s exactly what we did! Thanks to everyone who could join us for a night to remember. We can’t wait to do it again next year, so go ahead and pencil us in.
