It’s already been an incredible year so far, and things are only getting better! We’re thrilled to share that Tallgrass Freight Company recently swept several local and national awards that recognize fast-paced business growth and company culture.
First up, we were recognized by Inc. Magazine for the second consecutive year. This year, we made the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing companies, largely because of our 233 percent growth from 2016 to 2017.
That remarkable pace of growth also earned Tallgrass Freight a spot on Ingram’s 2018 Corporate Report 100, which recognizes the 100 fastest-growing companies in the region. That’s a notable accomplishment in itself, but we’re even more proud to be included in a record-breaking year.
“For the first time in modern history, every company in the 2018 Corporate Report 100 showed an increase in revenues of 100 percent over the four-year period,” according to Ingram’s.
We also received two awards from the Kansas City Business Journal: Fastest Growing Companies and Best Places to Work. We’re passionate about both our company trajectory and creating a vibrant, entrepreneurial culture in which our freight agents can thrive, and we’re grateful that the Business Journal recognized our accomplishments.
Last—but certainly not least—we took home an honor from an important community organization. The Shawnee Economic Development Council awarded Tallgrass Freight with its Major Employer Award, part of an annual Good Business Awards celebration that “recognizes positive economic growth and developments from the past year,” wrote Jennifer Bhargava for the Shawnee Dispatch. “This year’s award recipients invested nearly $90 million in Shawnee and collectively created more than 350 full-time jobs.”
We’ll be honest: we’re floating on cloud nine! There are so many incredible businesses in the Kansas City area, and it means a lot that we’re on the forefront of the companies that are working tirelessly to make a lasting impression in their industry and deliver a challenging, fulfilling career experience to their employees.
To Inc. 500, Ingram’s, the Kansas City Business Journal and the Shawnee Economic Development Council: thank you. To our fellow recipients, congratulations! And to our freight agents and staff, without whom none of this would be possible: we appreciate you and we’re so excited to celebrate together.
Let’s see what else we can make happen in 2018!
