Giving Back at Tallgrass Freight

Generosity is at the heart of our company culture here at Tallgrass Freight. We love supporting each other — because when one of us succeeds, we all win. And that’s how we feel about giving back in our community too.

Tis the season for giving, and we love being generous around the holidays. But it’s our privilege as a company to contribute to multiple community organizations year-round. As we celebrate the holiday season, join us in reflecting on the joy of giving back, and join us as we shine the spotlight on some of the organizations we have supported.

SAFEHOME

SAFEHOME provides a healing atmosphere for survivors of domestic violence. Its mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence and partner abuse for victims and their children by providing shelter, advocacy, counseling, and prevention education in our community. Through SAFEHOME’s shelter and community services, approximately 8,000 individuals each year receive the support they need to lead healthy, independent lives.

KC Hospice & Palliative Care

The mission of KC Hospice & Palliative Care is to bring expert care, peace of mind, comfort, guidance, and hope to people who are affected by life-limiting illness or by grief. Their vision is each person in our community is valued from life through death and each family is supported in their grief. KC Hospice & Palliative Care also supports individuals and families who’ve been impacted by the death of a loved one, whether anticipated, or sudden and unexpected through Solace House, which has served an estimated 20,000 grieving children, teens, and adults in the Kansas City area.

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation is changing the lives of children with cancer by funding impactful research, raising awareness, supporting families and empowering everyone to help cure childhood cancer. Since its first lemonade stand, ALSF has funded nearly 1,000 cutting-edge research projects at 135 institutions in the U.S. and Canada and supported families through much needed programs like “Travel For Care,” that helps make cutting-edge treatments accessible to children.

Salvation Army

The Salvation Army exists to meet human needs wherever, whenever, and however possible. Its wide variety of services reach disaster survivors, people in need of food and shelter, people facing poverty, those overcoming addiction, veterans, the unemployed, the elderly, victims of domestic abuse and so much more. With a national and international presence, the Salvation Army touches many in need around the country and around the globe.

Scholarships

Here at Tallgrass Freight, we’re proud of where we came from and we’re proud of our roots. So it’s a joy to offer scholarships to students studying at the high schools of each of our co-owners, Damon Anderson and David Barnes. David attended Caney Valley High School in Caney, KS, and Damon attended Sumner Academy in Kansas City, Kansas. We love giving back to students and empowering them through education.

As we continue to grow here at Tallgrass Freight, we’re grateful for the opportunity to give back generously. It’s part of what makes us who we are, both as individuals and as a company. We stick together and value our TGF community.
